Entone CEO, Steve McKaySet top box maker and internet TV technology provider, Amino, has agreed to buy cloud TV firm Entone for a total price of US$73 million (€67 million).UK-based Amino said the deal marked the consolidation of a direct competitor and that the agreement will increase its global footprint and scale, with US-based Entone claiming 150-plus global customers.Amino is a provider of digital entertainment solutions for IPTV, OTT and in-home multimedia distribution, while Entone is a provider of broadcast hybrid TV and connected home solutions. The takeover will see Amino buy the entire issued share capital of Entone for an initial cash consideration of $65.0 million, and a deferred consideration of US$8 million – to be paid in two instalments a year and two years after the deal closes.“The proposed acquisition of Entone has the potential to transform our business and broaden our capabilities and market reach globally across IPTV, hybrid broadcast and a range of connected home solutions,” said Amino CEO Donald McGarva. He claimed that the deal also aligns closely with Amino’s recent acquisition of Finland-based cloud TV platform provider, Booxmedia, which was agreed for €7.9 million in May.“We anticipate a number of synergies between the two companies and expect the proposed acquisition to be earnings enhancing in the first full year of combined operations,” said McGarva.Entone CEO Steve McKay added that Amino and Entone’s solutions are “highly complementary” and that together the firms will create a “significant new presence in the pay TV market.”“We share a very similar vision as to how our industry is changing and the kinds of solutions that are required to address both existing and new customers,” said McKay.The news came as Amino reported first half revenue, for the six months ended May 31, of £17.9 million – up 9% year-on-year. Gross profit was up 23% over the same period to £9.1 million. The Entone deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2015, subject to customary closing conditions and approvals.

DFIDurkan secures HGV survey for EglintonhaulageMark H DurkanroadsSDLPsurvey The Foyle MLA said: “I am delighted that DfI Roads have today, acknowledged the need for an updated review on the volume of HGVs travelling through Eglinton Village.“Myself and indeed other local activists, have put pressure on the department to address the significant increase in HGVs using the Woodvale Road and the detrimental impact this is having on the surrounding area. “Not only in regard to road safety but also the deterioration of the road itself; including a considerable rise in the number of potholes.“I was told that on the basis of figures obtained from outdated surveys, that implementing HGV restrictions similar to those applied in Hillsborough, were unjustifiable. SDLP Mark H Durkan, has secured a survey to establish HGV traffic volumes passing through Eglinton Village, following concerns from local residents.Mr Durkan had written to DfI on a number of occasions to request the restriction of HGV use in the area given the deterioration of the road network. This was denied on the basis of HGV count findings carried out on the Woodvale Road in 2013 and 2018 respectively. “However, at the time of these surveys the problem was not as pronounced as it is now. “Particularly over the last few months, the volume of HGVs travelling through Eglinton Village has risen dramatically- owed to the fact that drivers had taken this route as means of a diversion during roadworks on the dual carriageway; many have since continued to use this shortcut.“I am hopeful that once this survey is carried out and current figures ascertained, that the restriction of HGV traffic in the area will then be reviewed,” added the former Stormont Minister.Durkan secures HGV survey for Eglinton was last modified: June 26th, 2019 by John2John2 Tags: ShareTweet
