Pakistan today assured unconditional support to Sri Lanka in its endeavour to achieve a bright and prosperous future.Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat, speaking at a reception hosted in Colombo today to mark Pakistan National Day, said that Sri Lanka and Pakistan enjoy a strong relationship. Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat said that Pakistan is an “all weather and time tested friend” of Sri Lanka and the friendship has grown from strength to strength. “Mutual respect between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is the main pillar of this relationship,” he said.He said the visit to Pakistan recently by President Maithripala Sirisena as the chief guest for the Pakistan National Day parade is a testimony of the strong bonds between both countries.
